So long, Farewell.....2012

So long, farewell
Auf Weidersehen, goodbye (Name that movie :))

Well, here we are on the Eve of a New Year. Is it just me or does time seem to be passing at a very fast pace?

There are so many things running though my head tonight. My sweet boys are tucked in tight, J is watching college football and I'm just sitting here battling some inner turmoil. 2012 was a great year. But 2013 is going to be AMAZING! It's so easy for me to look back at this past year and only see the bad. (This is something I will work on this new year) But I have so many good memories of 2012. I'm going to hit a few lows but mostly highs of 2012.

*Biggest low-emergency gall bladder removal in January that led to retained gall stones, that led to jaundice, that led to another surgery, that led to internal bleeding that put me in ICU. Absolute worst/scariest time of my life. But also a blessing because it was a wake up call to me regarding my health.
*I turned 30 and the world didn't end. ;)
*J and I took a much needed kid free vacay to Vegas
*Caleb was treated for plagiocephaly by wearing a docBand for 10 weeks (at first this was a low for me but it ended being one of the best things we could have done for him)
*We took a family vacation,  9 adults & 4 kids, down to the coast and it was amazing.
*My dad was able to find full time work after being unemployed for 4 years.
*The boys started going to a wonderful Day School that has given me a little bit of my sanity back
*We had a very blessed Holiday Season
*I joined a company that I know is going to change our lives financially in 2013

I could probably bullet point all night long but I'll spare you. These are the ones that stick out to me the most. Here are some goals and things I would like to do in 2013.

*Lose 35 pounds. I know this is going to be hard, I know I am going to need help, support, and encouragement. But I cannot continue to live the way I have been.
*Buy a new car. My car is 6 years old, paid off, with 120, 000 miles on it. It's been the best car and it is the first car I've ever purchased and paid off myself. But with 2 boys, this mama needs something bigger.
*Take a tropical vacation with J for our 5 year anniversary. (another reason I need to lose the weight)
*Run a 5k-yes, I know that's only a few miles but I have NEVER been a runner and I have to start somewhere!
*Stay committed to this blog. It is my outlet and I need to give it 100%!
*Work my buns off building my It Works business. This will allow me to continue to be a stay at home mama, help my family, give to charity/missions/church, and live debt free.

I am looking forward to 2013. This is going to be MY year! I hope it's yours too!

I will leave you with some of my favorite pictures of 2012, video style...........

And our traditional New Years Day must have:
 Black Eyed Pea Dip
•16 oz. can of black eyed peas, drained & mashed
•1 stick of butter •4 chopped green onions
•4 oz. can of chopped green chilies
•1 tsp garlic powder
•8 oz. velvet a cheese cut into small cubes
Combine all ingredients and microwave of warm in crockpot. I prefer to use the crockpot and we usually double the recipe because it is delicious!
Serve with tortilla chips or make nachos with it.
Hope y'all enjoy it as much as we do!
