Thursday Truths

Hey y'all! I am still here I just haven't been in a place mentally to blog. My hubs had his annual work "kick off" meeting last Thursday-Saturday, so I was single parenting....which is always overwhelming. Plus, my best friend & her family were in town as well as my in-laws. So it was a crazy weekend. Then, on Monday, Caleb had tubes put in his ears. And the rest of the week has kind of flown by.

Let me also say welcome with a big ole Texas HOWDY!!! to all my new followers. Most of y'all found me through Mama Laughlin....she is just so awesome and a true inspriation to me! So thanks for following me on this journey and welcome, welcome, welcome. New people make me Happy, Happy, Happy!!! (Yes, I LOVE Duck Dynasty!)

Check back tomorrow because I will have my second give away posted.......FUN STUFF!!!!!!!

Ok....I am going to do some recapping and truths all in one!
*Single parents rock! (especially if you have to work full time and be a single parent) I get so overwhelmed, exhausted, cray cray that I just cannot imagine having to work full time (outside of the home) and take care of my boys on top of that. I will say staying home with my boys is a full time job, more than full time, but it is the most rewarding job I could have ever been privileged to work. I love them with every fiber of my being....even when I want to ship them off to Timbuktu for forever! So, a BIG shout out to all you ladies & gentlemen who do it on your own, all of the time!

*I miss my BFF, Courtney, and her family. We are so blessed that Dan, Courtney, and Jake are not just our best friends but they truly are family. We all ended up in Spring, Texas back in 2009 (before kids) and we were just meant to be best friends. Dan joined the Army the same month we moved back to DFW. He just returned home from a year long deployment. So they were in town for about a week to visit all of their DFW peeps. We did have them over for dinner on Monday and it was just like old 3 kids! (so, a little crazy!) The headed home on Tuesday and it just makes me sad to be so far away from them. But, Lord willing, we will be back in the same Metro area in the next couple of years!

*Dieting/Exercise SUCKS!!!! I weighed in yesterday for a .2 pound loss.....I so don't even consider that a loss! Whatever! I am sure it will just take some time to see the changes on the scale. I feel good. I feel like I am making smarter food choices and drinking a ton of water. I am not exercising as much as I should be. My mom and I are going to try Zumba on Monday night. Let's hope I like it!

*And the last one....I am not sure blogging is for me. I really don't know if I will keep this little thing going. It can easily consume you and I don't need anything else pulling me in another direction. I have my hubby, my boys, a business that I NEED to focus on, and I need to work on losing these 35 pounds. I know that I cannot be a blogger that posts everyday. We will see what happens.

And no post is complete with out pictures.....
(the boys in their new chairs from Mimi & Papa)
(mad because they just gave him meds)
(a little drugged and headed back for his surgery)
(so exhausted he fell asleep in his high chair)
Have a terrific Thursday, see y'all tomorrow!

  1. Sorry.....lost my last comment. Cute blog!! I am a Texas mommy as well. :)

  2. Aww! I hope Caleb is feeling better soon and hopefully the tubes work asap :)

You shouldn't quit blogging especially with your boys being so little. They can look back on this :) I think of blogging as a digital scrapbook full of memories.

I just currently started to blog again and your blog was an inspiration to get blogging again :)

  3. Poor little thing. You could always update your blog a couple of times a week. I don't think I can keep pace with blogging everyday either. I will run out of things to blog about LOL. I just started following and reading your blog it would be a shame if you stopped

  4. Love ya girl - I agree blogging is so time consuming. I completely understand - ugh... BUT I do enjoy reading your blog and would miss you dearly... Don't leave.. LOL.. Happy Thursday.

  5. New here...great blog!! P.S. you will love Zumba, I do Zumba Monday nights also!!

  6. I am with you on the blogging thing! I questioned it earlier this week. I started out doing this to keep a diary of my kids and it's kinda turned into something else. I have met some great people though. Hope next week is a better week for ya'll!

  7. P.S. Do you want to swap buttons?

  8. I found you through mama l and Holly! Cute blog! I agree with the blogging. Sometimes I love it but other times I feel anxiety over feeling pressure to keep up with it. Anyways, you are not alone!

  9. Hey girl, been following for a while but never commented. I enjoy reading, and your boys are such cuties! I am from Spring, TX, what a small world!

  10. We love you guys!!! So glad we got to see you last weekend! Hope Caleb is doing well. Seth, too, of course :-) We miss you guys, already! 2 more years (or less), then we can watch our boys grow up together... cannot wait!
